Introduction
Chemika represents its students at various meetings at KU Leuven. Here, the opinion of chemistry students is voiced as best as possible so that education is tailored to the students.
How and by who? You will find it below!
Structure
Chemika represents the students of the following courses:
- Bachelor Chemie
- Master Chemie
- Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling
- Bachelor Biochemie
- Master in de Biochemie en de Biotechnologie
- Master of Biophysics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology
These courses are represented in the ‘permanente onderwijscommissie‘ or POC. This is where professors, assistants, PhD students and, of course, students sit. The POC deals with topics such as the bachelor's thesis, our various courses, feedback on practicals and much more! They meet about five times per academic year.
Student Representatives - Chemika's StuReps
Every year, new student representatives (StuVers) are elected to represent the Chemika student in the (P)OCs, departmental council or departmental office. Below are their contact details.
Are you interested in doing representation yourself? Contact the head student representative of your POC!

OOR & Stura
As a student of the Faculty of Sciences, you are also represented within OOR and StuRa (student council of KU Leuven).

OOR is the acronym for the Overarching Education Council (in dutch). This is where Science Students sits to represent the interests of science students. Biweekly, an open meeting is held on topics and positions of interest to our faculty, called the OOR Consultation.

De Studentenraad van KU Leuven provides educational representation at university-wide level. It consists of a mix of students from all the disciplines you can study at KU Leuven. Here, topics such as changes to the ‘Education and Examination Regulations’ (OER), internationalisation, diversity... The general meeting takes place every fortnight on Friday evening.
